Our goal is to train and empower the young stage actor to excel with confidence in singing, acting, and dancing.

ALLISON D’AUTEUIL WHITFIELD (CHOREOGRAPHER) is beginning her ninth year teaching young students all forms of dance, including Musical Theatre, at the Ballet Academy. She was previously the Dance Program Director for the Sonshine Academy in Arkansas.  She has a degree in Psychology and Sociology from Hendrix College.

LAURIE GRANLUND (MUSICAL DIRECTOR) has enjoyed a national professional singing career.  She has performed as featured soloist at events ranging from “Miss Texas Pageant” to guest artist with the Irving Symphony Orchestra and the Plano Symphony Orchestra.  Ms. Granlund’s stage experience has included roles in Casa Manana’s and the national touring cast for Dallas Summer Musical’s Broadway series.  Laurie brings 25 years private voice teaching experience to the academy.

PRODUCTIONS

Our goal is to produce two musical theatre productions each year.

In 2008-2009, we presented Christmas Tabloids, an original musical written in part by the students and director, Laurie Granlund.  In the spring, we produced Disney’s Sleeping Beauty Kids
